At Pearl River we often receive enthusiastic reviews from Pearl River owners.
“Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hannah:
We would like to thank you for working with us on getting the much needed new piano for our sanctuary.
Like most churches of today, we operate on a limited budget and it seemed like the longer we saved
the higher the prices went. We settled on a Pearl River 5’3” grand. We are very pleased with the piano and the way it sounds in our sanctuary.
Over the years, as church pianist, I have played a multitude of different types and brands of piano—some very bad ones, some very good ones, and some very high priced ones. After playing the Pearl River, I was impressed with the quality, and after playing it in our sanctuary, I was even more impressed with the rich tone of the piano. The overall workmanship of this piano is excellent.
You can be assured that in the future, I will be recommending the Pearl River piano to others. With the Pearl River piano, we were able to get a quality instrument and still remain within our budget needs. I am sure we will be using this piano for many years to come.
Respectfully submitted,
Belinda Smith
Pianist, King Grove Church”
We Love Your Love Letters!
At Pearl River, we love to hear how much Pearl River owners love their pianos. That’s why we were particularly delighted to receive the following letter from Jami Hawkins in Columbia, South Carolina. A piano enthusiast and teacher, Jami purchased her Pearl River from Hannah Piano in Columbia and couldn’t be happier. Thank you Jami for your kind words.
“Dear Hannahs,
Today in the mail, I received a book of easy piano songs by he Beatles. It hit me that I have been playing and listening to piano music for over forty years! I began playing piano at age 8 and now teach piano as well as play for fun.
Over these 43 years, the technology of listening to piano music has changed beyond my wildest dreams: recordings on 78 and 45 rpms, as well as record albums gave way to 8-track tapes, cassette tapes, CDs and now all sorts of iPod things which I smile to think of as new fangled.
Through the years, however, the way I have dreamed of playing piano music has been to own my very own baby grand piano. A year ago, I walked into Hannah Piano in Columbia, SC, to begin exploring the possibility of this dream coming true. I had played a Pearl River baby grand at a friend’s house, and loved it, so I knew the piano sounded wonderful. My son, then 16, also plays, and I felt the piano would be an investment for him as well.
After visiting Hannah, I learned so much more about the Pearl River, the duplex scaling, the slow release keyboard cover, the beauty of the cabinet and, of course, the remarkable workmanship. Mrs. Hannah let me take home a full-sized template of the piano so that I could see how it would fit in my small home. Hannah arranged financing that met my budget. Soon, my Pearl River was delivered.
I am not a wealthy person, nor a virtuoso pianist. My small house is in a middle class neighborhood. But I am a musician who loves to play, teach and listen to piano music. My Pearl River has been a dream come true.
This piano enhances my life. Even when I am not playing it, I get a thrill when I pass by it…I so enjoy the beauty of the instrument! Tonight, before I go to bed, I will play old Beatles songs on my Pearl River and have a wonderful evening.
I love my Pearl River, as the Beatles might say, Eight days a week. Thank you, Pearl River, Thank you, Hannah Piano.”
And thank you Jami from everyone here at Pearl River Piano.
From Michael Corchran, owner of The Ruhnke Piano Company, we've received the
following:
Michael: We love the piano. Thanks...you truly enriched our lives with class. Take Care, Patty R., Gridley,

Kay from Charleston, South
Carolina:
“I LOVE my piano, and because I love it so much…some friends of mine in Charleston bought Pearl River pianos, too!"
Janelle Robbins from Salt Lake City, Utah recently wrote:
“My name is Janelle Robbins and a little over a year ago, I won the new Pearl River piano. I thought that you might like an update of he past year…I always took it for granted that I would have a piano in my life. When I was married in 2004, I suddenly found myself without a piano, and I missed it terribly. I used to find excuses to visit my family just to play the piano. I had priced out the cost to purchase one, and found that our finances were tight and would not support that type of purchase for many, many years to come."
Fort Johnson Baptist Church finds their Pearl River “absolutely STUNNING!!!”
Fox Music House in Charleston, South Carolina was proud to receive high praise from Cathy White, Senior Pianist at the Fort Johnson Baptist Church. Here is an excerpt from her letter.
Dear Mr. Fox,
“…another great source of joy in our worship is our new 7-foot Pearl River piano. I was privileged to come to your store approximately two years ago as part of my search for a new piano for the church. I have played the piano since I was a little girl, and having the chance to select an instrument all by myself was just like being a kid at Christmas.
After trying out several pianos of differing sizes and builders, I sat down at the piano we now own. I was looking for just the right balance of tone quality from the lowest notes to the highest. This piano was absolutely STUNNING!!! I figured a piano of this quality and size would surely be more than our church would be willing to pay…was I ever wrong.”
